Berliners may soon get more to see on the horizon than just
construction cranes, if a German architect realizes his
massive vision. The world's largest artificial mountain could sit on
the spot currently occupied by Tempelhof
airport, and provide a natural getaway for Berliners and tourists
alike. Did we also mention the fine skiing
opportunities from September through March?
Architect Jakob Tigges has named his 1,000-meter-tall mountain "The
Berg," which may conjure up images of
some bygone World War II-era redoubt. But the idea supposedly has many
supporters among Berlin residents,
and we have to admit that it's a novel way of one-upping all those
other cities focused on having thetallest buildings.

If you're not sold on the awe-inspiring grandeur of this mountain,
we'll let the "Berg manifesto" speak for itself --
and throw in some smack talk about other German cities in the bargain.
Hamburg, as stiff as fat, turns green with envy, rich and
once proud Munich starts to feel ashamed of its distant Alp-
panorama and planners of the Middle-East, experienced in
taking the spell off any kind of architectural utopia
immediately design authentic copies of the iconic Berlin-
Mountain.
Perhaps something was lost in the translation there. Either
way, we're looking forward to the next Bond movie where
007 rallies the neighborhood associations and fights a
morass of city zoning laws to stop ... "The Berg."

It may look like a $1.6million Bugatti Veyron – but this luxury sports
car can be yours for only $89,000.
A supercar nut has transformed his £1,000 Ford banger into this
stunning replica of the Bugatti Veyron – which is now on sale for
£54,000.
Petrol head Mike Duke, from Florida, spent nine months transforming
his Ford Cougar into a red and black imitation of the 1,000bhp
motor.

A specially-designed bodykit makes it indistinguishable from a
£1million Veyron and the interior has been re-styled and covered in
leather.
But the engine is the Cougar's standard 2.5 litre V6 model, meaning
its power falls well short of the 1,000bhp developed by the
Veyron's 8-litre powerplant.
This means 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 140mph – a way
off the Veyron's 2.5 seconds and 253mph.
Mike, from Florida, said: "I wanted the million dollar look without
the repair bills, insurance and huge upfront cost.
'It drives smoothly without any issues and if there is ever a repair
issue I'm sure it will not break the bank.
'I'm very happy with the finished result and of course driving around
in the car gets more comments than you could ever imagine.
'I want to be careful not to call this car a Bugatti – it's a
re-bodied Ford Cougar.
'But it looks better than a Cougar, and while it's no Veyron, it's
still fast enough.' Mike won't say how much the conversion cost, but
it is thought to be more than £20,000 on top of his nine months of hard work.
He is now selling his pride and joy on eBay for $89,000.
Bugatti made just 300 Veyrons with the final model – a Super Sports
model – sold last month to a European customer for £1.5
million.

With the new edition of the New Apple MacBook Air 2011 tries to make
its catcher legs: Intel "Sandy
Bridge" chipset, new interfaces, and Mac OS X Lion are on board. Is
that enough for laptop lofty
heights?

What's New?
Apple improves the core of the slim New Apple MacBook Air 2011: One of
drives with 1.6 (11.6 inches) or
1.7 (13.3 inches) gigahertz clocked Core i5 processor, the 2011 model,
flanked by two gigabytes of RAM
and 64 gigabyte SSD harddisk (11.6 inches) or four gigabytes and 128
gigabytes of SSD in the important
large version. Intel Graphics Chipset HD 3000 takes care of the
graphical issues. Thunderbolt is the
interface forMacBook Pro and iMac and the MacBook Air port, the
13-inch model has an SD card slot.
Lion OS X is installed.

What stays the same?
From the outside has to be on the keyboard, now as in the Pro-brother
has a backlight, very little
changed: Screen size, resolution, weight, dimensions, battery life –
all the same. As before theApple
MacBook Air is made of aluminum and measure at the thickest point,
only 1.7 centimeters.

11.6 inches: Upgrades and prices
For US$949 you get the smallest model with 64 gigabytes of SSD and two
gigabytes of RAM, you still
can upgrade doubled more memory, the processor can upgrade to Core i7
with 1.8 gigahertz.

13.3 inches: Upgrades and prices
The large model of the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Inches starts at
US$ $950.00 and has 128
gigabytes of SSD and four gigabytes of RAM. The doubling of the flash
drive with US$290.00 here
proposes to Beech, one upgrade is clocked at 1.8 GHz on the Core i7
also possible.

Assessment: Apple MacBook Air 2011
Thin is not just the Apple MacBook Air , but also the list of new
features. The greatest progress thanks
to the flask makes "Sandy Bridge" chip and touches so the cliche of
the pretty, but potent little notebook
from final. Thunderbolt, however, is likely to be understood as a nice
bonus, and the backlit keyboard is
more gimmick than selling point. And the additional hard drive and RAM
memory for Apple can be
gilded by higher purchase prices. Outstanding are used to form factor,
weight, battery power and
display – but that was the case as early as 2010.
