To Death...

Steven Deuman, 26, of Suttons Bay, Michgan, has been found guilty of the August 2011 murder of his daughter, Evelynne Deuman, 15 weeks old. The young father was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated sexual assault for suffocating his child during an oral rape. Deuman told police that he went out for a cigarette and when he returned to their mobile home, he found the baby lying on the floor unconscious, not breathing, bleeding from the nose, with a used condom in her mouth. DNA testing showed Deuman’s DNA on the inside of the prophylactic, and the child’s on the outside.
Deuman did not call 911, but called his wife and told her that the baby had choked on a condom. However, according to the prosecution, “This was no accident. She couldn’t roll over, much less crawl. … She certainly wasn’t capable of overcoming the obstacles on her bed, the pillows, to end up on the floor. Even if (she did), how is she going to suck that condom up?”
Not only did jurors have to endure the disturbing evidence of this case, but they also heard testimony from witnesses describing how Deuman allegedly sexually abused them as children. Jurors took less than 30 minutes to convict. Deuman faces life in prison.

Other than a few variants on tracks or some future designs that fly, motorcycles all have wheels and we know what wheels look like, some sort of disc rotating either forward of backward, right? Well, maybe not, because this group of students from Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at San Jose State University looked at a few sci-fi vehicles and thought, “Hey, why not balls?” Why not, indeed? They’ve designed and begun building a senior project to demonstrate the feasibility of something most of us would not even consider.

The spherical wheels are constructed of carbon fiber and fiberglass with an industrial rubber coating and are friction driven by three electric motors mounted slightly off center on top of the ball. Because of the three motor arrangement, the balls can rotate or spin in any direction which makes for a rather unstable platform on which to base a motorcycle, but the students plan to address this issue with a computer control system using a gyro-accelerometer combination to determine the necessary movements needed to maintain balance and move in the proper direction.

As a senior project, this is extremely interesting and makes a fine showcase for the students’ abilities, but as a practical matter, it seems they will have to overcome a great many problems which, in the end, may lead to a motorcycle with no real advantage over conventional wheels.

Erasing the boundaries of walls!

Modern architecture and contemporary design are all about creating a home that feels warm, unique, sleek, special and has its very own personality. While most minimalist designs and constructions employ in extravagant and generous use of glass, none could compare with the project ‘Glass Houses’ that is being contemplated by Italian design house Santambrogio Milano. The basic idea of these magnificent and ‘Hollywood-esque’ homes, is to ensure that the insides of the home become its natural surroundings and the mundane obstacles that the walls that surround us form are erased forever.

The lavish design of these glass homes will ensure that its residents will feel like they are living under the sky and in their surroundings without having to deal with the fury of the elements. One such home is slated to be built in snow- clad woods while other will take shape on a beach- both equally breathtaking projects. With its fairy-tale setting, the designers are faced with some real challenges like the all glass interiors, glass staircases, the three-story glass structure and the exteriors themselves.

While the pictures take your breath away, keeping this home clean, spotless and even intact could very well be a task as challenging, if not more, than the actual building of the structures. In any case, we would love to see them when complete- Narnia like!

You're lucky,,

Li Hongfang, a 40-year-old Chinese woman, was afflicted with a rare type of bone cancer that caused massive, disfiguring tumors to grow under her face. She was shunned for 10 years, unable to afford medical treatment, while the tumors continued to expand, mutating her face beyond recognition. But then, as does not happen often enough in the world, some people carried out an act of genuine, overwhelming kindness.

A hospital in Xi'an offered to perform the £60,000 surgery on the house. As Li went into the surgery, she said that, "I just want to look normal again, like I feel inside. I'm not a monster and I don't want to look like one." There's still some minor swelling around her eyes, and she's waiting to look into a mirror until the swelling is completely gone ...

No gold stars for guessing where this accident took place; yes, it's good ol' Mother Russia again. Last Saturday in Moscow, the driver of this red Ferrari 612 Scaglietti lost control of the V12-powered Italian exotic and slammed into a metal pole on the side of the road.

What makes this incident stand out - besides the fact that there's a Ferrari involved, is that the force of the crash was so brutal that it resulted in the front-end of the 612 Scaglietti being separated from the rest of the vehicle.

The only part of the Ferrari's front end that remained on the body was the passenger side fender.

Aside from the driver, there were three more passengers inside the 612 Scaglietti when the accident occured. Russian news sites reported that the driver was the only one to suffer some minor injuries from the crash with the rest of the passengers walking away unscathed.

ski carrier

Not everyone is fortunate enough to hold the key to a Lamborghini; Jon Olsson not only owns one, but is not afraid to tweak his Gallardo to his specific needs. This is the second time Olsson has taken on such a challenge and as it turns out, this Ski Transporter is much more visual than the last. German tuning house DMC was responsible for the creation and it is decked out in its GT3 package including a new diffuser at the front and rear, new rear-deck lid, LED enhanced lights and new bumpers.

Snow camouflage-inspired graphics on the vehicle work well against the black wheels, tinted windows and the ski carrier donning the same graphics.
