Looking into the future and the ocean with an exceptional marine skyscraper design named SeaOrbiter, humanity will learn more about 80 % of life on Earth, hidden in the oceans. The construction of this impressive research ocean skyscraper will begin by the end of 2012.

Atypically rising 170 feet (51m) tall, this collection of laboratories will be the first vertical vessel to sail in the name of oceanography. It has been a concept for twelve years, and now, this colossal ocean lab will take shape under the attentive supervision of its creator - French architect Jacques Rougerie.

Part submarine, part research vessel, the SeaOrbiter is expected to cost around $43 million and will be powered by sustainable resources like solar, wind and wave power. Supported by former NASA Administrator Dan Goldin, the European Space Agency as well as other industrial organizations, this amazing ocean skyscraper found on MyModernMet will be exploring uncharted territories and help construct a better understanding of our planet.

Future Car !!

This stunning Bugatti Aerolithe concept was created by 22 years old designer Douglas Hogg for his final project at Coventry University. This futuristic exclusive sportscar was inspired by a legendary vehicle showcased at the 1935 Paris Motor Show – Bugatti Electron Aerolithe.

The design of the Aerolithe Concept reinterprets in a modern way some of the styling cues of the original Aerolithe, such as the pronounced shoulders, the split windshield and rear window, the aeronautical-inspired doors and the trademark grille.

The doors take part of the dashboard. They open open upwards and forward to add drama to getting in and out gives easy access to the interior. The proposed drivetrain for the Aerolithe concept is an advanced gas turbine-electric hybrid system. The electric motor, which drives the rear wheels, offers up 450 horsepower.

Recently, China’s 150 cities carried out unified destruction of illegal firearms simultaneously. Over 100,000 guns have been destroyed as part of a police crackdown, and the Chinese police have smashed more than 180 criminal organizations and detained 7,800 suspects involved in the illegal possession of guns and explosives in the crackdown.

According to the police, they have spent over 10 months time to seize these illegal firearms, and they’re preparing to dispose of a further 250 tonnes of illegal explosives in the future. Well, at least we now know that Chinese police is not useless crap.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse offers an increased power output up to 1,200hp. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is the most powerful serial produced convertible in the world. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse follows the hardtop Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431km/h.

Bugatti’s engineers have developed the current Grand Sport, with its 1,001hp and 1,250Nm, into an even more powerful vehicle. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse’s maximum torque is now an impressive 1,500Nm. The increased power of the new roadster’s 16-cylinder engine is made possible by the four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. The chassis of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse has also been modified to support the power increase.

The exact performance details of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse are still to be revealed but expect them to come scarily close to the figures of the hardtop Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which does 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200km/h in 6.7 seconds, 0-300km/h in 14.6 seconds and tops out at 415km/h. Price is expected to be around 2 million Euro excluding taxes.

Are private pods the next step in Business Class airline seating? British product design consultants Factory Design and aircraft seat manufacturer Contour Aerospace seem to think so.

Their Air Lair concept seating consists of a series of hard-shell capsules providing a whole environment for each passenger; semi- private spaces with a flat bed, mood lighting, and individual screens for in-flight entertainment. The pods stack on two levels (I’d love to see the suited businessmen hop in and out of the ‘upper bunks’) in a 1-2-1 configuration. The goal? For each person to feel like they’re in their own private jet.

First capsule hotels, now capsule airline seats. Very 21st century. And: very purple.

This is the kind of thing we love to see in the morning; really well-composed, surreal mastery. Polish artist Igor Morski not only takes a figurative, photoreal approach, he creates the kind of fantastical situations and scenes that only the most peculiar of minds can really create.
